We saw the movie, Gone Girl. Soooo good. Although, Jannie, I’m not sure I loved Ben Affleck. You’ll have to tell me what you think. It was fun watching Phil’s reactions. He was so surprised at the twists and turns, and mostly surprised that I took him to a movie like that. He said he was expecting a chick flick. That might have been more fun than the movie itself, well not more fun, but it added to the fun.  It was also different because it was an all adult audience. Seemed like mostly all couples. Instead of what we’re used to, families and teenagers. The book, of course, is always better with the details and background, but still well done. Another fun date night.

Today I’m staying true to my schedule and doing some actual Lyming. I finished The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Excellent, excellent book. I hope they make it into a movie. Well, I guess that doesn’t really matter but I loved loved loved that story. And it’s a true story. So I recommend it highly. It’s also a “boy” book – like I think my brother would really like it. Christmas maybe. We’ll see.

Now I’ve started The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet. I believe I picked this book up at a second-hand store or a yard sale so I’ve had it on hand. Isn’t it one of those books on the top 100 books you should read in your lifetime? I used to keep the list in my nightstand so I could check them off as I go. I wonder if that list is still in there. Maybe I’ll start my own list. Like instead of Oprah’s recommendation it’ll be a Lynn recommendation? Or a finallyflorida recommendation. Huh? What about that idea?

Other than Lyming, it’s going to be a vacuuming day and I think that’s it. The weather’s been great. The windows are open. We haven’t closed the bedroom windows since we got them opened last weekend. LOVE the fresh air. Maybe we can fit in a beach day this weekend. Just to remind ourselves we live in Florida.

The worst thing about this blogging is that I get so distracted. I start writing, then I look at my emails, which leads me to Facebook and that’s just such a time suck. Then I’ll get up and do something else. Like, I’ve already vacuumed the entire downstairs before finishing this. Did some laundry. Ran two errands.  I think I Lymed for exactly 45 minutes. What is up with that? I need to stay focused. Squirrel!

And before I go let me just say, HAPPY BIRTHDAY PEGGY!!! Love, Lynne. xoxox

Until mañana
