I was truly back in the saddle today. One hour, western, walking on the nature trail. I did a little trot which was enough to remember that you don’t post western. It was beautiful. The weather was perfect. The trails were really pretty and all sand. We went through a creek and the horse didn’t even balk. The lead horse did but Cracker, my trusty steed, went right on through. I remembered my training and kept him going thru it so he didn’t get the idea that he was going to go swimming or lay down. Anyway, it was fun and great to be back on. I didn’t get any pictures but believe me it was beautiful and an hour was plenty for my butt and knee. Wonder how sore I’ll be tomorrow. Perhaps I’ll use that massage Groupon I have tomorrow.
Since coming home, smelling of horse, I have been stoked to get back out there and have already found a riding stable, closer to home, English riding, and affordable lessons. I will probably start lessons again. I think next week seems like a good time to start don’t you?
Tomorrow is hair cut day. Erin (old horseback friend) would be disappointed to know that I’ve finally got the pony tail thing going out the back of my helmet and now I’m going to cut it all off. Sorry Erin. But I did get one ride in with my pony tail. If I remember correctly, hair style has nothing to do with riding ability.
I glimpsed a little bit of myself today. That was pretty cool.
Until mañana and the big hair cut reveal,
