I am just learning of this big storm across a lot of this country of ours!   I am completely unaffected…It’s 70° and sunny. This coming Wednesday and Thursday it will only warm up to the mid 50’s but I bet most of you northerners would be happy with that. However, our weekend started off coooolld.

Friday night was our first Lacrosse (LAX) home game – I kept the stats and my hands were so cold by the end of the night. I had my blanket but forgot my gloves. It was cold enough that we could see our breath. So that’s cold isn’t it? Then Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. we had to get Jorden to his soccer tournament. We had blankets again and I was in a turtleneck sweater, it was only about 40° .  Diane and I were comparing our mornings:

I’m watching the boy (he’s in there…)

She’s walking her girl

I told her I’m dressed for winter

She said SHE’s dressed for winter

She won..

Something I noticed over the weekend is where up north temp says 10° feels like -25°; here it says 60° feels like 65°.   Just another thing to love about Florida. No matter what the temp, the sun feels good.

Here’s a pic of our LAX girl.

Here she is – 2 Blue – good “D”!!

Here I am – showing my score keeping skills. Score 2-2. Not 20-2. Good aren’t I? (this pic from a couple of weeks ago, I’m no longer in charge of the score board – ha!)

I thought I remembered my sunscreen but after two soccer games Saturday, one soccer game Sunday morning and one LAX game Sunday afternoon I’m pretty much looking like a tourist. I don’t mind sitting at those games. It’s just like sitting in the sun and how bad can that be?  I think we’re done with soccer now so only have the LAX team to follow. I don’t know what we’re going to do with ourselves come May. Sleep maybe?

So other than the sports filled weekend we had a lovely Valentine’s day. Having the best boyfriend ever, other than the 2 dozen roses I got earlier in the week, I also got a surprise with a pearl bracelet. On our first date (after our initial meeting) he brought me pearls, fake and he meant them as a joke, but I didn’t care I still loved them (honestly I can’t really tell the difference) but anyway, the bracelet in that set broke so I got a new pearl bracelet! And some candy, which of course my teeth and waistline need, and I’ve eaten all already. Also, after the second soccer game we went to test drive a couple of cars. I drove a Mercedes GLA. They’re new for 2015 and slightly affordable and really stinkin cute.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) I didn’t love it. If I’m going to drive a Mercedes I want to LOVE it.   Until I can afford this one I don’t think we’ll go back.

From there we went to the Volvo dealership and I drove a Volvo xc60.

Now that one I did LOVE. But at the end of the day, I don’t think I’m ready for a new car. New car’s are such an expense and I still pretty much love my old car. But it was fun.  It took me a long time to find my Nissan too.  I’ll probably end up with something but it’s good to take our time.  For sure.

So we had a nice weekend. We’re counting down the days to our weekend away. I don’t know who’s more excited about it. I think it would hard to beat my excitement. The weather looks like it will cooperate. He still doesn’t know where we are going which is making it more fun (watch he’ll hate it) but he better not, cause the main event is each other. NO kids.

My days are getting so busy. Nothing producing income but there are other productive things I am doing. At least I’m not bored.

Tonight I’m making spaghetti. I think I’ve reported that these kids don’t like spaghetti (with sauce) but you know what? I don’t care. Phil and I like it so I’m making it and they can eat cereal. Actually they like butter noodles (pasta with butter and parm cheese) so they should be okay. I don’t think anyone will call CYS over it. Will they?

Until mañana,
