I’m already jumping a cross rail thingy.  How about that? A very low jump but still.  Can’t get that horse to keep a trot to save my life but he canters pretty well and he seems to know when there’s a jump to go over to keep the pace. I don’t think I’m doing anything. That horse is trained enough to know what to do. But he really doesn’t like to keep a trot.  Also there are so many things in this ring, like chickens, another horse, a donkey, lots of props sitting around, a tractor.  I mean WTF?  I guess it helps that the horse doesn’t shy away from these things but at the same time he’s cautious wondering what the heck all this stuff is in the ring.  Do you blame him?  We stopped for a drink of water and there was another horse on his tail.  Like where did this horse come from?  We were in the ring?  ya know?  Oh well. Maybe one of these days I’ll get my feet digging into his sides just right, and I’ll be fearless and then maybe he’ll be more fearless.  At least this week he didn’t spook. Thankfully there was no wind.  I was very close to cancelling this morning and thought of Erin who would have been calling me yelling at me to get my lazy butt out of bed and get my ass on that horse, and so I did. I don’t know why I get lazy like that. I was a little better at the feet picking thing today. I didn’t shake as much, but I’m still not ready to do it myself…probably ever.  As I was leaving there were a couple of kids grooming a horse beside me.  One little girl the size of a peanut with a very big horse, no fear. Those girls are so brave.  After a couple more lessons I’ll get out on that trail again.  That’s what I really like.  Just need to get my confidence back up.  There’s a woman there who cleans stalls and stuff.  I asked her if she still rides and she started telling me horror stories about her and her sister riding and how bad her knee is and how her sister’s horse bucked her off and broke her leg in several places.  Really?  REALLY??? So the answer was no, but she seems to be okay with picking the feet.

After riding I met Lori at her new place. She’s already ordered new kitchen cabinets, bathroom tiles, new appliances. I mean this is a woman on the go for sure. It was a nice visit. Then off to get the girl, and now home to figure out what to do. I’m waiting for tomorrow to do the big cleaning. I’m washing a bunch of bed stuff for the guest room. We bought new sheets and pillows last night at CostCo. The sheets are sooo soft. I think I’m going to have to go back and get us some too. If I was motivated I would work on some curtains. But I’m not. Maybe I have a bug. It’s possible I have Island fever. Is there such a thing? Post-Island fever maybe? Tomorrow is going to be the big push to clean. I’ll start drinking caffeine when I get up!

Date night was Costco and then home. Not a big date night but I like Costco too. We were checking out the 80” TV. Can you imagine? 80”??? We didn’t get one. I don’t know what our next big purchase is going to be. Maybe a car for me. I need to get out there and drive some more to see what I want (and we can afford). Honestly you’d think I have all this time, but it fills up fast. Sometimes it fills up with naps, but still it’s full.

I’ve moved my new pet coconut from one side of the room to the other. That deserves a nap (it must be the weather.)

Until mañana,
